Financial statements and main performance ratios
Learn the secrets of your balance sheet and income statement. We’ll ask you to bring your most recent financial statements, so we can work on those during this module. We’ll take a closer look on your Profit and Loss Statement and calculate a few important financial ratios. Do you know how to track the financial performance of your social enterprise?

Identifying key business drivers
Learn to identify the key factors that impact the performance of your social enterprise by looking at your financial variations. These internal or external drivers, that can be grouped as costs, revenues or even investment drivers, can either support your growth or can significantly decrease your actual performance.

Financial projections
Learn the basics of doing realistic financial projections through a practical exercise. Learn how to use the best information available at the time of your planning – your past performance and expected market dynamics – and draft a number of scenarios. Plus, let’s conduct a sensitivity analysis.

Group size and planning
The ideal group size for this workshop is 15 to 20 people.
Travel costs are funded by the host organization (client).
Participants may work at the same organization.
Courses are scheduled at least 2 months in advance.

Also, make sure you have at hand your own financial statements.
Survey and roadmap
Before we start our workshop, we’ll make sure we understand your needs and your prior financial management experience. We will ask each participant to fill out an pre-assessment survey.
Participants ideally should come with their own financial statements – profit and loss statement and balance sheet – for the previous 2 years, and with a situation of their revenue breakdown, for at least one year.
Additional advisory services
Individual, tailored support is available to all participants or organizations looking to improve their financial systems.
Topics
After the workshop, we can take on additional advisory sessions and consulting work to improve the financial performance of the social enterprises.
We usually deepen our financial analysis, conduct a thorough cost assessment, assess the product portfolio and work on improving the manager’s financial and strategic management skills.
These advisory and support services are paid separately.
