Executive Advisory

for Nonprofit Leaders

ADVISORY OVERVIEW

Synerb’s Executive Advisory Program is a 3 to 12 months individual advisory program aimed at supporting nonprofit leaders to navigate through their strategic leadership and critical operational challenges.
Executive Advisory for Nonprofits with Zoltan Bereczki

We’ll provide nonprofit leaders with a straightforward experience that is based on 1. A leadership development needs assessment. 2. Creating an individual leadership development roadmap.  3. Regular advisory meetings focused on improving core leadership issues: executive communication, decision making and lateral thinking, staff and board management, fundraising, organizational culture and strategic planning skills. 4. Technical change management support. We’ll help leaders to select and tailor the appropriate strategic working tools. We’ll moreover provide support with organizing an effective staff retreat and/or creating new organizational procedures. 5. Intermediary evaluation process. 6. Final assessment of the advisory process.

Advisory STRUCTURE

I.

Leadership Needs Assessment
We’ll start our advisory journey with a needs assessment interview to uncover your leadership needs and potential blind spots. We’ll pinpoint key areas for growth and refinement, ensuring a nuanced understanding of your personal leadership landscape and your specific challenges. We’ll then talk more about your learning style and how our feedback can help you. Your willingness and openness to share your fundamental leadership challenges is critical in this step.

session

II.

Individual Leadership Development Roadmap
We’ll design a tailored roadmap of your leadership development experience and agree on the key focus areas for our advisory process. Usually, we’ll aim to identify a number of cross-sectional leadership topics, such as executive communication, decision making and lateral thinking, staff and board management, fundraising, organizational culture and strategic planning skills. This strategic plan serves as our compass for the coming advisory session.

session

III.

Ongoing Advisory Session

Our advisory meetings will begin with a focus on fundamental leadership challenges, but we’ll also cover some of the organizational process decisions you’re about to make. During this phase, which may last for 3 to 12 months, we meet with the nonprofit leader around 6 to 18 times. The length of a meeting is typically two hours and it consists of a mixture of fixed agendas and open-ended slots to discuss different newly emerging issues and provide you with feedback.

IV.

Technical Change Management Support
In this stage, we’ll assist you with selecting and tailoring the appropriate strategic working tools. We’ll furthermore support you with organizing an effective staff retreat and/or creating new organizational procedures from scratch. If need may be, we’ll co-design, with your team, a new organizational Theory of change, a bold vision, a new fundraising plan and a realistic action plan to transform your organization.

V.

Intermediary Assessment

At the halfway point of our process, we will take some time to evaluate the effectiveness of the tools and methods used. In this phase, we may repeat a partial needs assessment.

VI.

Final Advisory Assessment

We will evaluate the outcome of our advisory program at the end of it. We may discuss whether it is necessary to continue our program or just discuss our learnings and conclusions before finishing it.
